[News from News Center] From Dec. 19th to 20th ,Vice President Sheng Huang led the directors of Higher Education Development Center to research at Jiangsu University and Ningbo University on Double First-Class University construction and university strategic planning and management.
The symposium at Jiangsu University
At Jiangsu University, the delegation listened to the introduction to Jiangsu University, key development indicators in recent years and the concept on Double First-Class University construction delivered by Vice President Zimei Miao. Then the Director of Planning Development Office Yonghong Fu and Assistant Dean of Graduate School Junjie Yuan introduced the thinking on sticking to the traditional school-running characteristics and the concept of first-class discipline construction on “Agricultural Engineering” respectively. The two parties conducted a deep exchange on the difficulties of Double First-Class University construction, personnel system reform and disciplines’ optimization and adjustment.

At Ningbo University, the delegation visited the University History Museum first, and then held an informal discussion with Vice President Tiefeng Xu and Heads of relevant functional departments. Planning Development Office Director Junwei Xu introduced the basic situation of Ningbo University, focusing on the construction group program of “Marine Biotechnology and Marine Engineering”. The program is based on mechanics with an integration of aquatic products, mechanics and information and communications engineering in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Education. The Executive Dean of Graduate School Guoping Li introduced the concept of discipline dislocation development. The delegation learned more about the first-class discipline construction planning and the experience on the 13th Five-Year Plan closed-loop management and two-level management. The investigation promoted the exchange and communication of YSU with Jiangsu University and Ningbo University. Sheng Huang asked the Higher Education Development Center to summarize the results and write high-quality research reports so as to provide references for the YSU construction of Double First-Class University.
